Places thattell a story.

Every project begins with a simple question: what should this place make people feel? These six illustrative projects show how we work.

Illustrative projects: places, figures and images are given as examples. Real projects will be published here with our clients’ written consent.

The starting point

A consultancy was leaving three anonymous floors for a single 1,200 m² floor plate. The partners wanted offices where clients feel welcomed as if at home, without giving up the ergonomics of an intensive workplace.

Our response

We would draw up the space plan with the teams, zone by zone: clusters of workstations along the façades, boardrooms at the core, two waiting lounges treated like a hotel lobby. Nine makers would be brought together, deliveries consolidated in a partner warehouse, then installed over two weekends so that work never stops.

The starting point

A family-run, twenty-four-room hotel was reopening under new ownership. The lobby and bar had to be reinvented without closing in high season, with fire-rated furniture able to withstand the salt air.

Our response

An eleven-metre bespoke banquette would follow the curve of the wall and anchor the whole space, beneath a constellation of pendants. Deliveries and installation would be phased over three low-season weeks; contract pieces would be chosen for their fire rating and washable fabrics.

The starting point

Mouldings, herringbone parquet, fireplaces: a 210 m² apartment with its charm intact, but furnished with heirlooms that no longer spoke to one another. Its owners wanted to live in the present without erasing its history.

Our response

Travertine and walnut would answer the panelling; a monolithic table would anchor the dining room, a low sofa would open up the view across the living room. Every piece would be presented on a sample board, swatches in hand, before being ordered.

The starting point

A Lyon bistro wanted a warm dining room able to take two services a day, seven days a week, and to age well.

Our response

Thirty-six smoked-oak chairs, pale-topped tables that could be pushed together for larger parties, the glow of an opaline lamp above every table. Simple, robust pieces, chosen to take on a patina rather than wear out.

The starting point

A fashion house presented its collections twice a year in an overcrowded space. It wanted a minimal setting in which every piece of furniture serves the clothes.

Our response

A curved terracotta sofa, cylindrical concrete plinths made to measure by a partner workshop, a lighting track: the scenography would step back for the collection and could be reconfigured in an hour between two presentations.

The starting point

Beneath a 650 m² timber roof structure, a flexible-workspace operator wanted the ergonomics of an office and the softness of a home, for members who spend their whole day there.

Our response

We would propose one hundred and twenty workstations, six acoustic booths, lounges and a large communal table. Ergonomic task chairs, globe lighting, pale wood: the ergonomics of an office in the light of a home.

Acoustics: partner engineering consultancy · illustrative project and figures.
