A second lifefor old furniture.
When a project replaces offices, hotel rooms or a dining room, the old furniture should not end up in a skip by default. We organise its take-back and direct it, in this order, to reuse, donation, then recycling through the approved scheme.
An order of priority that follows French environmental law (Code de l’environnement, article L. 541-1): reuse before recycling.

Four steps,
in this order.
Each piece goes to the first possible destination; the next one is considered only if the previous one is not possible.
Inventory
Each piece is photographed, measured and its condition recorded before dismantling.
Along with the project surveyReuse
Pieces in good condition are restored and reused in your new project, or entrusted to a partner refurbisher or reuse organisation.
Soul Design does not resell second-hand furnitureDonation
What can still be used is offered to charities and social-economy organisations.
Handover certificateRecycling
The rest goes to the extended producer responsibility scheme for furniture.
Certificate of handover from the collection schemeReport
A summary per destination: number of pieces, estimated weight, recipients, supporting documents.
At project handoverFigures,
not slogans.
We do not describe your project as “sustainable”, “green” or “carbon neutral”: such claims are regulated by law and we do not use them. Instead, we give you verifiable information that your company can use in its own reports.
For companies that publish non-financial data, these figures complement the carbon footprint estimate we can prepare for the new furniture.
- 01An initial photographed inventory, piece by piece.
- 02Number of pieces and estimated weight per destination: reuse, donation, recycling.
- 03Handover certificates from recipient organisations.
- 04Tracking notes from the recycling scheme.
03 — Your request
Describe
the old furniture.
The volume, condition and the date the premises must be cleared are enough for a first estimate. We usually reply within two working days.
- 01On-site inventory along with the project survey.
- 02A proposal: destination per piece, logistics, and the cost of removal and handover to the right channels shown on the quotation.
- 03Supporting documents handed over at project completion.

Do you take back furniture outside a Soul Design project?
We organise take-back alongside a project, where it makes most sense (same schedule, same logistics). For take-back on its own, write to us and we will point you in the right direction.
Do you buy back the old furniture?
No: Soul Design neither buys nor resells second-hand furniture (this activity requires a prior declaration and a register that we have not opened). Reusable pieces are entrusted to a reuse partner or donated; removal and handover to the right channels appear on the quotation.
Can you call our project “eco-friendly”?
We do not describe your project that way: such claims are regulated by law. We give you verifiable figures (number of pieces and estimated weight per destination, receipts) that you can use in your own reporting.
What happens to donated furniture?
It is handed over to a charity or social-economy organisation that accepts it after the inventory; you receive a handover certificate.
Your next space
What goes out,
what comes in.
Taking back the old furniture and installing the new are planned together, on the same schedule.
