SolutionsArchitects and designers

You specify the FF&E. We buy it, track it and install it in France.

A design studio abroad, or a busy one in Paris, should not spend its fees chasing a maker in Italy about a delivery date. We take on procurement: quotes, orders, tracking, receiving, delivery and installation, with your design intent intact.

  • Your specification stays yours: no substitution without your approval.
  • Order acknowledgements checked against the specification.
  • Fire documents checked before ordering for public buildings.
  • Meetings in English, by video call or in Levallois-Perret.

Soul Design (SAS, Levallois-Perret) uses this information to answer your request, get back to you and, if you wish, prepare a quote. What procurement covers

Procurement is the step between your specification and the furnished space. From your schedule of FF&E, we request quotes from the makers you named, or equivalents if you allow them, and consolidate everything into one quote for your client. We place the orders, check each order acknowledgement against the specification, follow production, organise transport to France, receive and inspect the goods, then deliver and install on site.

You keep the design decisions. When a lead time, a discontinued finish or a compliance issue forces a choice, we bring you options with their consequences and wait for your answer.

  • consolidated quote from your FF&E schedule
  • order acknowledgements checked line by line
  • production follow-up and shipping
  • reception, inspection and storage before delivery
  • installation and snag list

The French details a foreign studio would rather not learn

Projects open to the public fall under French fire safety rules for ERP buildings: textiles classified M1 or Euroclass, upholstered pieces backed by test reports such as EN 1021-1 and -2, and an inspection body, the bureau de contrôle, that approves the list. We collect and check the reports for each line before ordering.

There is also the French language requirement for care and assembly instructions, the furniture recycling eco-contribution shown on invoices, VAT rules for deliveries in France and to neighbouring countries, and Paris access constraints: booked delivery slots, small lifts, building managers. We handle them so that your client receives a compliant, documented project.

How we work with the trade

Architects and designers can join our Trade programme. The terms of the collaboration, including how your client is invoiced and how your role is acknowledged, are agreed in writing at the start of each project, in line with your own practice. You can stay in front of the client while we work in the background, or let us contract directly with them.

We do not sell building works. Fixed joinery and fit-out are carried out by the contractors you or your client appoint; we coordinate furniture deliveries with their programme.

One tracker, shared

Each line of the schedule has a status you can read at any time: quoted, approved, ordered with the confirmed date, shipped, received, delivered, installed. When a maker moves a date, you hear it from us the same week, with an alternative if the opening date is at risk. At handover, you receive the documentation file: test reports, care instructions, maker references and spare fabric details.

Typical cases

Typical case

A London studio designing a Paris apartment

Situation
The schedule lists twelve makers in four countries; nobody on the team speaks French or knows Paris delivery rules.
Our approach
One consolidated quote, shipments grouped in our partner’s warehouse, delivery to the apartment on one booked slot and installation in a day.

Typical case

A French architect on a 50-room hotel

Situation
The design is set, but the practice has no team to chase 400 FF&E lines and their fire reports.
Our approach
Procurement of the full schedule, report list submitted to the inspection body, phased delivery by floor.

Typical case: a representative situation, not a completed project.

What procurement costs depend on

The procurement service is quoted with the furniture. The main variables:

ItemWhat drives it
Number of lines and makerssize of the FF&E schedule, number of suppliers and countries
Documentationfire reports, translations, technical files
Logisticsconsolidation, storage time, number of deliveries
Installationsite access, phasing, out-of-hours work

Every line of the quote shows maker, origin and announced lead time; terms for the trade are confirmed in writing per project.

Frequently asked questions

Can you buy from makers you do not usually work with?

In most cases, yes. We open an account with the maker for the project, provided it sells to the trade and can deliver to France.

Do you replace specified items with your own?

Only if you ask or approve. When an item is unavailable, we propose alternatives and you decide.

Who invoices the client?

It depends on how you prefer to work; the arrangement is agreed in writing at the start of the project.

Can you store goods until the site is ready?

Yes, through our logistics partners, for a period agreed in the quote.

Do you work outside France?

Our base is France. Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco and French-speaking Switzerland are studied case by case, including VAT.
